Don Perry began private art classes at the age of seven. His instruction included drawing and painting, which he attributes to learning the basic skills of a fine artist. He continued to focus on the fundamentals of fine art throughout his formative years. Upon completion of high school, Don went on to study graphic design, photography, illustration, fine arts, and creative writing at Mount Olive College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communications.
In 2009, after not showing for almost 20 years, Don decided to show in New York during art week and has been exhibiting and selling his work in galleries across the country ever since. He uses a variety of techniques when creating his work and no pieces are an exact style, the exception being his illustration works produced within the past year. While Don’s influences are vast, the outer world collides with his inner world to serve as his primary inspiration: “Life disturbs what my soul already knows.”
Don is the founder of DPC, a creative production company, which recently announced the launch of a new modern lifestyle magazine: DotDotDotMag.com. In a format that provides an online portal to the world, DotDotDotMag.com features modern art, music, technology, style, sports, travel, and other original works. “We felt there was a niche for a new type of publication with a mission to serve the entire arts and technology community…the new school of art…the institution…the future…”
