Sleeping Policeman: February 2014 Grand Strand Artist of the Month

Sleeping Policeman is the brain child of Charles Grace, a singer/songwriter and guitarist. Charles began playing guitar at the age of 13 and writing songs at the age of 16. After participating in three bands throughout high school, Charles decided to focus on the songs that he was only playing in his bedroom, the songs that would eventually bring Sleeping Policeman to the forefront of his creative mind.

The first Sleeping Policeman show took place in January 2009. Charles has released two albums independently: An Untitled Tale (2010) and Closing Chapters (2011). With these albums, Sleeping Policeman has enjoyed regular airplay on alternative rock station 96.1 WKZQ. He has also had notable live performances sharing the stage with national acts such as Tyrone Wells (Nov. 2010), and headlining the main stage at House of Blues in Myrtle Beach (Nov. 2012).

Charles Grace is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in classical guitar performance. Charles is currently working on writing material for his third album as well as planning a tour of the Southeastern United States.
